When can I get my L’s?
From the day you turn 16 – you must be 16 years of age or older.
What do I need to study?
You will need to study to be able to PASS the Written Learners Test.
Buy a copy of “Your Keys to Driving in Queensland” from any large newsagency and study it carefully.
We recommend you practice the Written Road Rules test online at www.tmr.qld.gov.au and www.free2go.com.au
Where do I get my L’s?
You need to go to a Transport & Main Roads office (TMR). Their website www.tmr.qld.gov.au will help you
find your nearest TMR office location to complete and pass the Written Road Rules test.
What you need for the Written Learners Test
What do I need to bring on the day of my Written Learners test?
Proof of Identity – any three of the following:
-Full Original Birth Certificate.
-School (or Educational Institution) Identity card with photo & signature.
-Debit/Credit card with signature & embossed name.
Proof of residential address – any one of the following:
-Australian Taxation Office Assessment.
-ATO Tax File Number notification (current or previous financial year).
-Telephone account with name and address.
How long is the Written Learners test?
This test takes about 30 minutes and has 30 questions divided into 2 sections.
Section 1. You must get at least 9/10 questions correct.
Section 2. You must get at least 18/20 questions correct.
How long does my Learner’s License last?
The Queensland Learner’s license lasts for three years. You must hold your Learner’s License for 12 months continuously before you can go for your P test.
If your Learner’s License has expired, you will need to pay a fee to renew it.
